May 1, 2010 McNeil HS, Austin, TX
The 2010 meet at McNeil HS in Austin was a huge success for us in many ways. We had some great, very close, competitions (check out the results), the weather and the facilities all cooperated, the meet ran on time, we had fun, the feedback was awesome and best of all: we raised enough money to sponsor 10 athletes in the Special Olympics of Texas, and provided two $150 scholarships to two very deserving student throwers at McNeil HS. THANK YOU to all you who competed, Judged, and volunteered on oand off the field.

2009 Carrizo
June 6th 2009 Carrizo Springs TX:
It was a typical Sunny South Texas Spring Day with temperatures reaching 98 degrees, Twenty Seven throwers with ages ranging from 86 to 17 turned out for the First Annual Texas Throwers Invitational in Carrizo Springs on Saturday June 6th for what all agreed was a meet well worth getting to.
Seventeen of the throwers got together the night before for the Pechanga at The Casa Monte Lodge, home of the famous Blue Margarita Cantina. It was a night of good food, great margaritas, guitars, singing, and the usual stories and good old fashion pre-event taunting. Robert and Laura, thanks again for your tremendous hospitality.
The meet ran well thanks to the volunteers, judges, and mulitple shorter flights. Along the way there were some PR’s and improvements in the national rankings; Steve Patridge extended his lead in the M50 Shot Put with a throw of 16.13m. Tom Carlson got a PR in the M50 Shot Put with a throw of 12.91m and Ed Riewerts got a PR in the M50 Hammer with a throw of 46.56m. Angel Acosta drove 8 hours from Torreon Mexico and took a couple silver medals, one in the Javelin with a nice throw of 35m. Robert Rogers and Dan Roloff had their usual head to head battle in the Shot Put with Robert coming out on top this time by 19cm with a throw of 12.19m.
We also saw some new comers and a variety of throwers trying out some new events. James Nicholopoulos threw the Javelin, Edward and Charles “Mike” Suhr added the Javelin, Hammer and Weight Throw to their list. It was a great day!
